Sometimes They Come Back AND Post Something of Value

I'm sitting here in a mound of miscellaneous Re-Ment and wondering where to start. Got a couple of new shelves a while back and am trying to organize my Re-Ment on them--it's a much bigger project than I thought it would be! So, of course, I pull up LJ.

Anyway...hi. I can post sometimes. :)

If you're wondering what I've been doing in my long LJ-hiatus, I guess the vast majority of it would be working. Two jobs leaves no time whatsoever for anything else. And now that we've had a pack of deadlines come up (and will continue to come up through the holidays) I'm literally not sure if I'm going to have time for any holidays. I may have to postpone them for January, not for money or lack of spirit, but just for pure lack of time.

Sometimes when I get very busy I abruptly start taking on new hobbies, or returning to old ones, I guess. So in the middle of all this crazy busy-ness I find myself back interested in Saiyuuki. Of all the things! I thought I was done with it. And I return feeling really fish-out-of-water to this weird fandom where all of a sudden Nii (not Nii, of course, but his shinier equivalent the sanzou) is all over every third icon and somehow the fandom manages to annoy me more since the last time I was there and I'm reminded all over while I left. I feel seriously out of the loop, because although it's not like I've not been interested in anime/manga this whole time--well, it has been a long time since I've watched any anime. My only fandom has been Crows for so long that I forgot what it's like to follow a series that has an anime, and an English-speaking fandom. So it's sort of a pleasant surprise wondering what, say, Saiyuuki Reload Gunlock was like and being able to find the episode to stream, like, instantly. But along with instant gratification comes really, really obnoxious, spoilt fandom. And I am miles less patient than I used to be (and I wasn't that patient to begin with).

Ack--I also just realized that I forgot my dear, dear akaibara's birthday. How was it, dear? How are you, anyway?

hehe Yeah. I haven't really been watching anime anymore and I'm out of the loop in terms of anything constituting fandom.

However... :) Sounds like you're having "fun"?
About as much "fun" as it sounds like you're having in your journal! I'm happy I'm done with school whenever I read your LJ. :)
